The last of my NY photo dump 😪 It’s only been a week, but somehow I’m nostalgic for these eats already??? Maybe it’s bc I admittedly don’t get out and explore my own city enough, but the food in NYC was just TOP TIER 🤌 Here we have:
that last slide is PURE SEX tho 🥵 Restaurants include: Champ’s Diner (order the cheesesteak & you will not regret it), WinSon (which I didn’t eat at but looks fire tbh), and Kitsby Dessert Bar (the Salted Egg Lava Cake is easily top 3 desserts I’ve ever had and their Durian Creme Brûlée is the best introduction to durian one could hope for).
@michaelibakerynyc in NY’s Chinatown deserves they’re own post fr. They’re pastries are absolute bangers—perfectly done yeasty treats that are light and rich with an ideal amount of sweetness that manages to satisfy your sweet tooth without overwhelming your palate. The Chocolate Rugalach (not pictured 😞) was petite, silky, and indulgent af while the second pastry (which I’m failing to find the proper name for 😞) was a lightly spiced yeasted roll of sorts akin to a cinnamon roll with pockets of sweet black sesame and sweet bits of nuts on top. THE REAL SLEEPER here tho was their espresso, which I admittedly only ordered for an extra dose of caffeine; I don’t expect anything spectacular from a bakery espresso bar. But this was easily top three solo espressos I’ve ever tasted; bright, juicy, and smooth without being overly tart or bitter. When the bakery coffee far out-performs the dedicated coffee shop, it makes me question my stance on ordering coffee from places that aren’t focused around coffee. Will I find my favorite cappuccino from a random gas station? Tune in next time ✨
THE HOLY GRAIL of Tulum eats ✨ A smoked bbq cauliflower sandwich (why doesn’t ANYTHING like this exist in the states???), smoothie bowl cuz beach vibez llleessggoooo, huevos rancheros aka the best breakfast meal known to man (fight me), and alas—lemme take a deep breath—the best tacos I done ever had yall 😭😭😭 Tender grilled octopus with some sort of subtle bbq-y sauce, chipotle mayonnaise sorta vibe, sautéed onions, stretchy Oaxaca cheese, and flour tortillas 🤌 Despite all the early closing times thanks to the election week + Corona power combo, Mexico treated me well 🇲🇽
